Mr. John Katzman
Education Entrepreneur, and Founder & CEO, The Noodle Companies
John Katzman is an education entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of The Noodle Companies, an education startup whose eponymous search engine helps students and parents find educational resources and schools.
Prior to Noodle, Katzman founded and ran two large public education organizations. Until 2012, he was CEO and Chairman of 2U, which works with research universities to create high-quality online degree programs. Prior to that, Katzman was CEO and Chairman of The Princeton Review; by the time he left in 2007, the Review helped over 50% of students applying to US colleges and universities each year find, get into, and pay for school.
Katzman has served on the Boards of Directors for several for- and non-profits, including Renaissance Learning, the National Association of Independent Schools, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools. He has helped launch several other education technology companies, invested in many others, and authored or co-authored five books and many articles.
Katzman is married to Alicia Ernst; they have a son (23) and daughter (21). His personal interests include ice hockey, running, skiing, and architecture.
